Original linocut "Night owl", (dedicated to all "night owls" out there - I used to be one before I had my girl :) 
Designed (as all of my linocuts) by myself, carved on linoleum and handprinted with highly-pigmented oil-based ink on a selection of premium printmaking papers.
 
 
This design was inspired by my love of "Arts and Crafts" and "Art Nouveau" movements in general,  and my admiration for the work of Russian illustrator Ivan Bilibin (1876 - 1942), in particular. Bilibin used illustrative borders throughout most of his book illustrations and I tried to design my own border for this linocut.
 
This is a very small limited edition of 30.  There is also a separate handcoloured  and gilded edition, available here.
 
 
Image size 30x20 cm, paper size appr 30x40cm.
Hand-torn edges so can be framed mounted or unmounted (with exposed edges). 
The following options are available:
 
 
1. Copper ink on Zerkall paper
2.Burnt amber ink on cream Japanese Kitakata paper
3. Burnt amber ink on off-white Natural Kozo japanese handmade paper
Numbered and signed by the artist (me🙂)
Because the image is inked and printed by hand there may be slight variations in tone and colour.
As with all of my linocuts, will be carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity
